so i have a gay friend and he’s hasn’t told his parents abt him being gay. so um today they found out and they’re saying they can’t accept the fact that he is gay and my friend really doesn’t know what to do. they haven’t had a proper conversation yet but what shld he do? he’s really distraught rn

also he’s a minor so he can’t just leave home

how did they find out? its hard to find out if someone is gay unless his parents caught him dating another guy but i feel like the safest thing for your friend to do rn is to deny that he's gay for the time being bc like u said, he's still a minor and the last thing we want is for him to get kicked out of the house just bc of his sexuality. he can't leave his house either so coming out now would be kinda risky. he should only come out when its safe to do so and when he has a place to stay imo

I agree with izcream but if it's impossible to deny and the parents are going to be abusive/kick him out there may be a group home in the area? Worth looking into emergency shelter with your local pride center

update: he’s alr confirmed with them that he is gay and his parents want to “ungay” him

I think its best to turn to ppl that can understand the situation well. so I would look up if there is a gay cummunity center or sth similar. either go there (if its near) or phone them and ask for advise.

in this society and age that is depressing.
I came out as bi to my parents
and they said there isn't such a thing.
I hate it when people push their agenda onto others.
