ive never bought a pomegranate before. every time I've eaten one its because someone had them at their house and they'd already been shelled or whatever the word is.

i have a pomegranate now. i don't know if its ripe google has been entirely unhelpful...or maybe I'm just blind. is this pomegranate ripe??? fruit experts please help me out here I have no life skills

no idea, i kinda just assume if the outside is bad so is the inside. ur pomegranate good tho, pomegranates r just kinda ugly on the outside

Supposedly they didn’t keep ripening after being picked according to my source so no. But partially unripe ones are apparently okay, and stores generally won’t generally sell unripe one’s to the point that they’re inedible.

if all is lost I can always make pomegranate jam or syrup I will update you all on my pomegranate adventures tomorrow whether you like it or not

The way to easily get the seeds out of a pomegranate is to cut it into 6 pieces like this:

then get a big bowl and fill it up with water, then place your pomegranate in the water and let some seeds go to the top. Then gently move the seeds off in the water. When you have no more seeds left take away the shell/what’s left of the pomegranate (not the seeds!!) and the white stuff/Pith (unless you like bitterness lol). Then you can drain the water from the pomegranate and you’re done!

Lol take a wooden spoon if you have one and bash the the shell a couple of times over a bowl, they should come right out

I’ve done this method a couple of times. But, I like your method of beat a pomegranate with a wooden spoon too may use it to take frustrations out later lollll
