For anyone who listens to Melanie Martinez, what are your thoughts on her newly released album Hades? Whether you agree with what she's singing or not, what is your initial take on listening to the entire album for the first time?
For me, I was initially sucked in by the instrumentals, melodies, and the rhythm of each track. After a third re-listen of the whole album, I began to discern the lyrics and the messages coming through. I think her whole intention is to bring awareness of what's going on "behind closed doors" if you will, and shedding light on the reality of society's ugliness. She really goes beyond expectations and amazes me every time she releases an album. The theme is always different and controversial. I like how she sticks to her way of producing music, regardless of what people think which is admirable imo. Girls got b*lls.
