Ok I kinda teased a few hours ago that I would post more pride related threads and share more about myslef during this beautiful month.
I never hid my sexuality online but I usually just start talking when the topic comes up.
I guess I feel a lot in a ways like Simon from Love, Simon and his stance that why is it even neccessary to have a coming out and why being straight is the persumed normal basically.
I personally never had a coming out. I doubt I would even do that as long as I havent had a real serious relationship with a female. My family just doesn't get LBTQ and always make awful comments about that (tho they are genuinly good people but it's just like ... they just never would understand).
I am pansexual ... maybe even leaning more into demisexual. I could care less about gender; I don't even have a type. I just want to find someone who matches my vibe, who I know I can trust and who is on the same wave lenght basically as me.

this is it for today :nekosweat: I will be thinking of what I can post next about this topic for the next days.

Awww it's really nice of you to share your feeling sis. I had no idea that you were pan/demi actually, not that it mattered really.
I def agree with what you said, that it's stupid to have to come out at all and that people just presume you're straight by default, tho, at this day and age, that still makes sense. Cause people still aren't aware of just how many people are LGBTQ+ and most people in the world are still connected to the old way of thinking.

So essentially, as the older generations fade away and time goes bye it'll get normalized and the people that didn't find it normal will die (most of em) while the ones that understand it will become a larger %. Similarly with a lot of other situations like race or ethnicity.

I don't really see the need to come out either and I just go by if i'm not interested in someone in a romantic sense then I don't care to know their sexuality as it makes no difference to me otherwise and I only need to go off their personality

You don't have to come out or feel forced to do so. I'm sure if things actually get serious with someone, you'll make that choice yourself :sanapray:

There's still a long way to go to normalize LGBTQ+ in our society but we're taking baby steps and will eventually get there.

it's always been interesting how people have the need to label everything and everyone, I guess to create order and make things more clear in their heads? but nothing in this world is that simple, certainly not something as complex as a human being. Every person is a mixture of so many things and a beautiful chaotic work of art, something unique that never was before and never will be again. We could just embrace it and celebrate the differences that make life colorful rather than punishing anyone who is not like us just because we are scared of the unknown.. anyway, thanks for sharing girlie <3

why is it even neccessary to have a coming out
I'm pretty much on the same opinion now. Coming out is just such a stressful thing to do if you sit your family/friends down and have "the talk" with them, that's what I did some years ago with my Mom and some of my classmates. Classmates was not as bad but man trying to tell my mom was scary. And I think I talked about it before, from her reaction to now.

A few years later when my older sister came to visit us, she was watching TV in my room and then out of the blue asked me if I was still gay. I was really perplexed at first because I never came out to her but figures that she heard my mom complain about it to a friend on the phone once. But it wasn't as bad as specifically coming out to her. It was just like "yeah, why wouldn't I be", and we just continue normal conversation after that.

I think coming out shouldn't be the norm anymore. You don't have to come up, sure you can be all out and pride and that's totally fine but me personally am not a person anymore who would "shout it out to the world" that I'm gay. It should be normal to everyone but as long as we still hold the coming out to such a high standard it will be hard, especially even cuz there are still ALOT of countries that have a huge crime rate against lgbtq people.

How am I right now I think, whenever it comes up I will talk about it, just like you said. I don't want it to define me? if that makes sense?

What I totally hate seeing back when I tried out dating apps (literally just made an account, looked at the app, and deleted it again lol) were comments like "If you aren't out to your friends and families you shouldn't be on here" as some guys had that written on their profiles which thinking about it now is just really fucking stupid.

i'm pan too!! and i definitely agree with your view, hopefully in the future being straight won't be the perceived norm anymore and being LGBTQ+ will be normalized and accepted to the point where someone can just casually say "hey, i'm pan!" and get a "nice" and move on. :sakUwu: for the time being, though, i personally like to be as open and proud as possible to make the homophobes mad lol :pepelgbt:

this is so beautiful. and I certainly agree with what you are saying. usually the importance put on labels doesn't matter and it doesn't define a person.
the world is colorful and complex and that's good.

some people are just so awful. stuff like that just makes it harder. it's your own life and no one should try to influence what you personally want and need and hope for.

and yeah coming out shouldn't be hold up to such a high standard. things are changing and it is all getting more accepted (thankfully)
