That's due to years of your body relying on sugar/carbs for energy. Intermittent fasting will teach it to use fat instead, which is much more efficient. There will definitely be growing pains... depending on how sugar/carb-rich your diet has been and for how long. You're most likely insulin-resistant right now too.
What does insulin resistant mean?

Never intentionally. On accident yeah loads of times, sometimes in high school I would be too busy to eat so I'd go up to about 36 or so hours without food. Now I wouldn't call it fasting personally, but 18 or 19 ish hours without food is normal to me. It's just how my eating schedule works out and the fact that making/finding food is effort. :haylul:
Hmmm i should try it more

Well if your goal is for weight loss then what I did didn't help anywhere in any regard, whether weight or health. Probably too many other factors involved, deciding that you'll just eat less or less frequently doesn't mean that you'll lose any weight, you very well could stay the same or gain weight if you change the type of food you're eating or how much exercising you're getting.

When you eat foods with a lot of sugar/carbs, your pancreas pumps out insulin to regulate blood-sugar... however, over time with the excess insulin, your cells will stop responding to the insulin and therefore become "resistant" to it. That becomes a huge problem, because insulin is needed to regulate your blood-sugar and if your cells are no longer accepting it, your blood-sugar gets very high..... this is how type 2 diabetes happens. It doesn't happen over night and being slightly insulin-resistant is fine, because you can always reverse it. I hope this explains it.
