One example comes to mind. Growing up we were never told about the family drama that came before us. It was just a typical family, with me, my brother, and sister. Until one day my sister (who has no sense of privacy) decided to go snooping through my parents citizenship application papers and discovered that it was not all as it seemed.
She was 14 or 15 at the time, and through a team effort of googling, asking relatives, and picking up on any hints dropped she discovered her biological dad and other half sister. My mom still went through the effort of introducing her to her biological dad when she turned 18, but we already knew all that info more or less, not to mention that my younger brother straight up told my mom we knew about my sisters dad before my sister turned 18. She even got into contact with her other half sister before that. But yeah that was fun
And who knows how much longer it would have taken her to learn that if she wasn’t snoopy and my parents didn’t leave the papers lying around.
