When I had hamsters as a kid, I was bitten by the female because, if I recall correctly, I disturbed its sleep by trying to pet the one-week-old newborn hamsters, which were nearby the mother, with my finger.

I think I also had a neighbor's puppy bite me once, too.
Our family and their family knew each other so I used to hang with their children sometimes. Before that biting moment, their pup was friendly to me.
