Like you accidentally drop something in the trash or toilet?

So last night, I couldn't find my retainers.
And then it dawned on me
I put them in a napkin instead of the container
A napkin that I probably threw away
So I went in the kitchen to check my trash...a trash can that witnessed me clean out my fridge that same morning
And I found it in there, tucked in the same napkin
And before you ask, she went through 5 rounds of dish soap scrubbing plus an extra soak in soapy water

YES I READ ALL THE WARNINGS AND GUIDES NOT TO PUT YOUR RETAINER IN A TISSUE OR NAPKIN BECAUSE SHIT LIKE THIS COULD HAPPEN
I had stressful day yesterday. My mind probably blanked.

And before you ask, "Why not just get a new retainer?"
They're expensive. I live a country that hates health care ​

Yeah, plus the ones I dropped aren't the type a pharmacy would be like here, have some more. Ngl I don't even know what happens if I do lose them somehow like that, it's very possible I'd be stuck with no medication until my next refill

i dropped my phone in the water when i visited some beach decades ago. yeah it's still on but it got so hot i had to turned it off. luckily it's a cheap phone so i can buy a new one.

I've accidentally dropped my toothbrushes into the toilet a few times on different occasions.

And I've accidentally dropped one of my previous phones next to a toilet in a public bathroom.

Fun times.

reminds me of a story about parents and their treatment of raising three different children

child 1 - drops dummy on floor - gets all in a tizzy and washes said dummy in boiling water and disinfects it, antibaterial wipes the whole shebang

child 2 - drops dummy on floor - washes said dummy with running water

child 3 - drops dummy on floor - maybe blows on it before shoving that thing right back into baby lol
