both my parents have and they've even been a juror as well

I think it's something new and different - I mean I wasn't chosen but I would have liked to get chosen to see a trial from their perspective
it's certainly an interesting experience from what I gather from my parents

it's not something like " hey I really like being a juror " but at least once maybe???

Once, many years ago to the Federal court where I need to listen to everything said in English. Since back then my ears were too untrained on that, I almost understood nothing, so I was excused.
