Just had that happen on the way home from work… thankfully there was an alternate route I could take ​

Public transit isn't very big where I'm at, so I've only taken the bus for special event parking kind of things.

Totally annoying that they ditched you!! When I'm done with work, I just want to be home.

I don’t think so, given how often I take a bus it makes sense why this wasn’t an issue though I definitely saw the bus pull away while I’m running, but they couldn’t have seen me

I take public transport aall the time especially buses but doesn't one need to indicate like wave their hand so that the bus stops???

Yeah it's a rule here to always indicate, unless it's a major interchange or the start of the route

I've been to Singapore and China and I think for some other countries bus stop automatically stop at each stop since because of the density there are people getting on and off at each stop whereas down under not so much maybe?

not really, but I don't take regular public transport. I did use to take Medicaid transport (they call ours Metro Access), but they got so annoyed by my impatience to get home on returning trips that they booted me. but it's all good, bc I got two amazing, reliable caregivers to count on now.

OH! I just remembered - I had an Uber pass me by once. he zoomed right past me (mind you, I was waving and hollering like crazy tryna get him to stop) and never came back. Luckily, I was at home when it happened, so I simply canceled my plans bc the Uber driver didn't see me.

@Selfmate it’s not the first time this has happened. Usually it happens when the bus is full, but it’s inconvenient because you have to wait 15-30 minutes for the next one depending on the route

in that case yeah I sorta understand I've had that happen before as well
during peak times or (after school times) where the bus is full they will zoom past you even if I wave at them...

Here in sydney if buses are full they'll change their led screens to 'set down only'

Hard to use buses here when there are barely any. By the time I drive to a bus stop that works for my route I could probably have just driven to the destination at that point

At most of the places I’ve taken buses, the bus either stops at all stops or they stop if they see that someone is at the next stop and/or someone inside has pressed the button signaling that they want to get off at the next station. I’ve never been at a place where indicating is necessary. But I’ve only taken the bus in some parts of the US and in various European cities, and they all had clearly set areas for bus stops and just assumed that people waiting at the stop are at the bus stop because they want the bus (though tbf, sometimes people want another bus, but I guess there’s always someone who wants to get on or off at those busy stations). Except for the school bus ofc, those are just different.
