Basmati. I was just reading a recipe today that uses it and they said it comes from the word for fragrant in a language and a half. I haven't used basmati rice before but I'd imagine it must be fragrant

This one is also more awkward but I think I learned the name Sputnik before it's meaning (satellite, before used to mean natural ones like the moon and stuff).

my language is notorious for abbreviating absolutely everything to the point where people only say chai even though they probably don't know that it's meant to be said this way
