...when you were actually looking for another?

This happened to me and my parents last night. We'd had reservations at a Japanese/Korean place, but we drove like all over town looking for it and never found it. But what we did find in the process was this random Mexican restaurant, which we ended up going to instead. It was good, and I even brought home leftovers, but I would've preferred the JP/KR restaurant.

i usually hate eating out, but when i do plan something, i make sure i'm there, even if phone calls are needed but it helps that i eat dinner early so it usually works out fine

I found my favourite ramen restaurant in Tokyo by chance...

Happened way back in 2015. I was walking back to the train station after visiting Tokyo Tower (it was around 11pm) and I came across a small ramen restaurant that was filled with a few locals. Ate there, loved the ramen and then later on found out that it was a highly rated place.

Usually I find them on google maps, and in that scenario yes, I find unintended ones. I usually don’t like finding them irl because I’m a picky eater and would prefer to know the menu in advance, though it happens
