Have you ever gotten sick over Thanksgiving/Christmas? (1 Viewer)

bc that's me right now. lol I tested negative for COVID, but I (AND my roommate!) do have a cold and won't be able to see my parents for Thanksgiving.

I've also been sick over Christmas before. It was Christmas '97, and I was down with the flu that night AND all of Christmas Day. I had to open my presents lying down bc I didn't have the energy to sit up and do it.

Not me, but my mom once got a serious flu for 2 weeks (pre-covid) and I thought I need to call the ambulance because she may die. Scariest thing ever happened to me. It was an "amazing" Xmas and New Year. :/

Christmas 2019, I got HELLA sick. So much my voice sounded like I smoked 10 packs of cigs everyday in my life, it was disgusting. I couldn't breathe at all, basically suffocating at night. It was so bad I ended up having a mental breakdown one night TT Pretty sure it was covid when covid wasn't really talked about yet.

I got my Covid booster, so I'll be feeling like trash this year (but for a good reason). That said, there have been past years that have sucked. There was one Thanksgiving that started with my sister getting a bad case of gastro, which led to every member of the family, one after the other, spending 24-36 hours vomiting. That was not fun.
