-and google the lyrics to find out the original artist is one you don't care for? bc there was a contestant on The Voice who just did a cover of Flowers by Miley Cyrus, and it was really really, I mean REALLY good... but I'm not a Miley fan. lol so much for checking out the original!

I don’t really see why not being a fan of the original singer would change how I feel about the song, unless I actively disliked the original singers voice or disliked them as people. I’m not sure that’s ever happened where I disliked the original though some covers are better than the original.

I don't remember the song but I HATED and it was sung by someone I liked. Then someone else covered it and I realized the song was amazing but the person singing it just wasn't meant to sing that song.

not liking an artist wont keep me from listening to their music (unless they did something really fucked up), but i've found myself loving a cover & not caring for the original plenty of times
