My grandparents gave my littlest brother a nickname, Nyusik, when he was like 7. When I heard Nyusik, my mind drew a connection between that and the word nuisance. For the longest time I thought the name was a cheeky way of jokingly calling him a nuisance (which he was tbh). Until I learned it’s an actual Russian-Jewish nickname, and it had nothing to do with nuisance. Oops
