Have you ever moved states in the middle of a school year? (1 Viewer)

and what made you move? Did you have a good or bad moving/new school experience? Let's discuss!

I did. I moved from Charlotte, North Carolina, all the way to Fairfield, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati), in seventh grade. My mom had been laid off from her job and couldn't find any opportunities in NC, let alone in Charlotte. Plus, the bulk of my dad's side lives in the Midwest anyway, so we figured it was the perfect opportunity to move.

School in Fairfield was way better than in Charlotte. The school system was a lot more lenient in the rules department, the kids were way friendlier, and the district had a better handle on special needs kids like me. The only thing I'd complain about is the blizzard we found ourselves in the middle of upon arrival - but that's winter in Ohio for ya!

I moved a few times. I’m originally from Jersey. We were planning on moving to the Maryland dc area when I was 13 but my mom’s brother in law passed away and we moved to Florida for a year to help out our aunt. My dad stayed back to settle things with our old house. Then we all moved to DC. I hated my school in Florida and dc and after another year they let me live with my moms youngest uncle and finish high school in jersey with my friends.
The only two places I call home are Jersey and Nyc.

I don’t think I ever did in the middle of the school year, but I did move quite frequently because my mom’s husband was Military.

New Jersey was the first place I lived in in the US, unlike you I don’t remember it though.

Not really but the only time I moved from state to state was after I turned 7. While I was born in New Jersey, I moved to NYC (more specifically S.I.) at the age of 2 or 3. I moved back to New Jersey after finishing up 1st grade (it was more convenient to move during the summer so I didn’t have to transfer to schools in the middle of the school year). Since moving back to NJ, I either moved to a different street or to a different city.
