Have you ever taken a break from listening to kpop? (1 Viewer)

Lately I just haven’t been wanting to listen to kpop. It’s just felt kind of boring and a lot of releases this year have seemed pretty lackluster IMO. There are hardly any songs from this year that have really stood out to me. (And yes, this includes music from my own faves too.)

I’ve mainly listened to rock and metal music for the last 2 months or so instead, with some western pop as well. At this point I only listen to kpop if I’m actually in the mood to listen to it

Have you ever take a kpop break?

i remember there being a period a few years back where i basically wasn't listening to kpop at all (with the sole exception of "so bad" by stayc for some inexplicable reason )

nowadays i'd say i maintain a pretty fair balance between other genres and kpop, although it tends to be things from earlier generations rather than new releases

Yep! I'm on one right now and while I'm still a casual listener of some groups, I moved on to Western and Latin artists more as I am enjoying their music a lot currently.

Sort of but I didn’t listen to any other music either. So for me it was more so just not listening to music at all. And a large part as to why I did that was because I was watching so many history and language videos that there wasn’t enough time in the day to really listen to music

I'm more or less interested in new songs and groups but I've never taken a break. I still need my daily dose of Dreamcatcher.

3 times since 2012 I'd say. 2 years each. Last time was 2023-2024

I’ve been less interested in kpop these days as few releases feel interesting. But my major break came after Jonghyun’s passing, I just couldn’t listen to kpop anymore

I do have phases every now and again where I won't listen to any Kpop songs and listen to songs outside of Kpop which I think for me is just the result of not really being invested any more as I only follow my faves and might listen to a different release only if a friend recommends it or it pops up as a recommendation on YouTube

Honestly I've never taken a break. I do agree this year has been disappointing with some releases
