Well this is because purple dye used to be really expensive to make. It was very hard to source natural materials thag could make purple dye hence making it ridiculously priced. This cost made it very impractical for many countries to put purple on their flags.​

If its an older country with an older flag, definitely. However it is now cheaper to make purple dye so I am sure some newer countries could have purple in their flags and not be rich
