The nocebo effect is the exact opposite of the placebo effect. It’s when you expect bad symptoms to happen (such as headaches, nausea, etc) and therefore actually feel them, despite not having them. I’m sure everyone’s familiar with someone who has this a lot, even if you didn’t know the name I certainly do.
