GWSN (also known as Girls in the Park) is a 7 member girl group under The Wave Music. The group consists of members, Seoryoung, Seokyoung, Anne, Minju, SoSo, Miya, and Lena. They debuted on September 5, 2018 with the title “Puzzle Moon”. Their fans are named “Groo” and their fandom colors are Pantone 203 (Color of Love), Pantone 121 (Color of Universe), Pantone 2247 (Color of Nature) and Pantone 297 (Color of Pureness).
Seoryoung (서령): leader & main vocalist. Born January 26, 2000
-While in school, she participated and won second place in a music competition
-She describes herself as the “Fairy Leader” because she resembles a cute fairy
-She has released a single with Highlights Dongwoon titled “Color Me”
Miyauchi Haruka or Miya (미야): main dancer, lead rapper & vocalist. Born May 26, 1993
-Miya was part of a Vixx cover group pre-debut
-She loves and is very good at drawing
-She is good friends with Lu & Haru from girl group Nature
Kim Seo Kyoung (김서경): main dancer, vocalist, rapper. Born April 16 1999
-She was a participant of Season 1 of Produce 101, placing 30th
-She does beauty styling as a hobby
-She has a very bright personality
Lee Seo Young (이서영) or more commonly known as Anne (앤): main rapper & vocalist. Born October 17, 2000
-When she was younger she dreamed of being an actress and filmed CF’s, MV’s and short films
-She speaks Mandarin
-She can mimic the sound of an eclectic rice cooker
Kang Min Ju (강민주): visual, lead dancer, vocalist, & rapper. Born March 11, 2001
-She acted in the 2021 web drama “Color Prison”
-She’s wanted to be an idol since middle school
-She was told to audition by singer Na Yoon Kwon
Wang Chingyi (王靖儀) or her stage name, Soso (소소): lead dancer & vocalist. Born March 14, 2001
-She was inspired by other Taiwanese idols to audition. Twice’s Tzuyu is her role model.
-Her members consider her to be very good at changing her facial expressions fast on stage.
-She enjoys rock climbing
Kang Lena (강레나): maknae, center & main vocalist. Born April 17, 2002
-Released a collab single with British singer Jack Walton titled “We Need A Change”
-Studied in the U.S and can speak English
-She is good friends with Loona’s Yeojin, they have matching jewelry
It has unfortunately been some time since GWSN has had a comeback but, their last release was on May 26, they came out with the EP “The Other Side of the Moon” with their title track called “Like It Hot”.
Despite no comeback this year, the girl group still has quite a few EP’s and even a full album to explore. If you would like to look into their music just follow these links provided below.

I listened to GWSN, aka Girls in the Park's latest release, The Other Side of the Moon, released a year ago in May 2021. I decided to review Like It Hot, Starry Night, and I Sing(lalala), the three songs I added to my playlist from this release.
Like It Hot - I was familiar with GWSN before this review and had heard some of their titles track before, and decided that GWSN's title tracks weren't my taste. Like It Hot is an exception. The beginning of the song starts with a production reminiscent of Red Velvet and SNSD songs. Around the 0:19 mark, the instrumental changes and vocals beyond just ad-libs start and the song gets interesting. The chorus is definitely my favorite part of the song. I love the beat and the intense vibe, and just the chorus is something I could play on repeat. Overall a nice song with a GREAT chorus. The only thing is I like the chorus much better than the rest of the song. Still, it's definitely my fave GWSN title track chorus and my fave title track from them.
Although I hadn't heard many before, I always thought b-sides were the stronger point of GWSN's discography, and they were one of those groups with better b-sides than titles. I love The Interpretation of Dreams for example, it's definitely great.
Starry Night - Starry Night starts of screaming that this song has a purely electronic instrumental. The instrumental and its repeating melody is reminiscent of the beeps of old school video games, except much higher. The vocals are calm and chill, a contrast from the staccato of the beginning of the instrumental. I hear snare drums as well. The vocals carry this song with the instrumental being a canvas. The vocals are definitely beautiful. The vocal effects in the song are interesting as well, and give parts of the song a dreamy atmosphere, not being electronic beeps throughout.
I Sing (lalala) - The song starts of with a brief drum solo before it's joined by jazzy piano. GWSN's jazzy vocals are beautiful and you want them to wrap you in their warmth. The beat is nice too, and there's snapping that goes well with the song. The instrumental is really nice, particularly a part around 1:20. Despite having fewer instruments than most kpop instrumentals, it's never boring, and every second is meaningful. The piano, drum, snapping, and GWSN's voices work together seamlessly. A really nice song, and definitely my favorite from the album.
To conclude, GWSN has a diverse and well produced discography, and there's sure to be something for everyone in this album. Especially with I Sing (lalala) being a great kpop jazz song. I hope they can comeback soon

I Can’t Breathe – This song starts off a little underwhelming, if I’m honest, but as it progresses, I start to like it more because of the catchy beat. I’ll give this one a 7/10.
Like It Hot – Now, this is a bop! I’m digging the rap hooks, and this is coming from somebody who favors vocals over rap! In fact, I’m dancing in my chair as I type this. A solid 10/10.
EIEIO – I almost hit skip on this one because the song title sounded a little childish (Old MacDonald had a farm…), but I’m so glad I didn’t! I love the harmonies and the segue between the chorus and the verses. This gets a 9/10.
