Mirae (미래) is a 7 member boy group under DSP Entertainment. In Korean, 미래 (Mirae) means future, and 미래소년 means future boys. Their logo incorporates the first consonant of each syllable in 미래소년 and connects them into a hexagonal shape. Their fandom name is "Now", meaning the exist because their fans now exist.

Pre debut, 2 members (Junhyuk and Dongpyo) competed on PX101, with Dongpyo making the X1 lineup, while Khael and Siyoung were on Under Nineteen. The boys officially made their debut on March 17th, 2021 with their first EP Killa.

Spoiler: HueKaisBubbles

It was extremely hard to pick just three tracks to review because this album is literally marvelous – zero skips! I’ve decided to just pick the songs that made me move the most. You will surely love Mirae and this album, especially if you also like similar artists like BTS and Seventeen.

Marvelous – I really like this one. With the “la, la, la” parts, this song sounds like an earworm for sure, and that’s not a bad thing! This gets a 10, especially for the runs towards the end.

Juice – This song is also very catchy, even more so than Marvelous! It’s easily a dancing tune, and I’m bobbing my head to the beat as I type this. 10/10 would totally recommend!

Seven Pages (Dear My Friend) – I expected this to be a sentimental ballad and was pleasantly surprised to hear otherwise! Nothing wrong with ballads, of course, but I tend to gravitate towards upbeat tracks like this one. Another 10!

Mirae are a boygroup that debuted in 2021, and came back most recently in January with their 3rd Mini Album Marvelous. They were most known for having former X1 member Dongpyo in the group.

I listen to this mini and have reviewed a few songs I thought were the best.

First off, we have the title track Marvelous. The song is bright with an electronic melody. It starts with a brief snippet of the chorus. "ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma Mars". It's interesting how they're relating the first syllable of the word "marvelous" to Mars, which also goes with the space concept shown in their music video. Then the instrumental takes a chill and laidback vibe while remaining bright as a groovy rap starts. The instrumental keeps this vibe with the next member's parts. But when the member after sings, the instrumental changes again. It becomes more minimalistic, and even more laidback rather than bright. The drums disappear and the percussion changes to snapping. Then the drums come back, much more intense than the previous rap, and building up to the chorus. The chorus is "ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma Mars" and "na na na na na na na na na na" interspersed with lines of vocals. It's bright, but in the last "ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma Mars" and "na na na na na na na na na na", the beat shifts again, placing an emphasis on every syllable. The song keeps this same structure through most of it until the bridge. The bridge has an intense electronic beat and atmosphere for the first two lines. Then it gets bright for the next member's part before we have an edm part before the last chorus ends the song. It's an interesting song for sure. I think it's ok.

Next, we have Amazing. It starts out bright and electronic and has chill, laidback but groovy raps. As soon as the chorus hits, you can tell this is a dance song. When the bridge hits, the instrumental is different. Still bright, but more laidback, and the instrumental in the final chorus is different from the previous chorus as well. The song ends with some bright instrumentals. This is another ok song. I think my least fav part was the chorus.

And, finally Final Cut. Final Cut is whimsical, and has a carnival vibe. This is definitely a song that can transport you elsewhere. It's bright and fun, with more laidback raps, which I'm starting to think is Mirae's style. This is definitely an interesting and fun little song, and I found it ok as well. Try to listen with your eyes closed and see where your imagination takes you.


Mirae have variety and interesting songs despite having a small discography, and are definitely a group to look out for.
