The terminator line is the border between day and night on a planet or moon.

I saw it once on a plane, which is how people usually see it. In my case, I could see dawn/early day out the windows to my left, but to my right I could distinctly see that the earth on that side was still in night time. It was a harsh contrast, and very interesting
