We can't guarantee what every idol will be like. Some turn out to be a piece of shit but to assume just because they're men = they're a piece of shit.... that's not fair and a generalization. This also assumes that all female idols are better when they aren't

I mean, to ignore it is to ignore a big part of the overall response that happens to situations where men are called out for this. So I'd say no, but as I don't want to get in trouble, sure, let's talk about what he said. I'll hit some of the bullet points.

• Feminist groups in Korea are often known for going past feminism and into views similar to the one you expressed, painting all men as evil. That said, I do not know enough about the group mentioned to comment on them specifically. It does say there is history of their members disliking him but does not say why, which is a little odd. No international fan who lacks fluency in Korean should be speaking on this because we have no way of seeing the full picture except through a biased lens.
• The YouTuber name thing is also unclear. The translation says that fans of the guy say the name means one thing, but women decided it means another. This is basically a he-said, she-said thing and without an official clarification, unclear. Even then, it seems the community of women made up their mind about what it means regardless. Again, no one who is not fluent in Korean should be commenting, as this is a very nuanced issue.
• The stray cat thing actually isn't that weird, and while the translation says it's mostly brought up by misogynists, I actually saw a news article on Koreans against feeding strays just the other day. A YouTuber brought up how TNR programs don't prevent the cats from hunting, and thus killing native birds. Cats are actually very well known for the ecological damage they do. Is that what he was thinking when he said what he did? Again, idk.
• No comment on the Cha Eunwoo thing because Heechul likely knows him better than any of us and that is a personal issue that needs to be dealt with between them.

Anyways I think what he said might have been wrong and might have been fine. The assumption here is that the feminists are all good people and anyone who speaks against them is only doing to because they’re mysoginists. But think about it, feminists are a really varied group of people. Some of them are crazy, radical, exclusionary against trans people, ect. If I wanted to I could make the claim that anyone who doesn’t agree with JK Rowling is anti feminist, because in a way they are. I’m not saying that the organization Heechul spoke out against is necessarily this brand of feminism, but I’m just pointing out that being a feminist doesn’t automatically mean good and being against certain feminists doesn’t automatically mean you’re a bad person. Otherwise I bet most people in this thread would possibly be guilty of the same thing as Heechul is. Unless you know the organization in question can you really make that judgement?

in general i agree that standing up for one good thing doesn't make you a decent person by itself (especially with jkr being the example of that ), but in this case i have doubts that he was genuinely calling out the organisation for their radical practises given that this is the same man who is actively subscribed to a youtube channel that victim blamed those affected by the nth room. obviously i hope i'm wrong since the industry is filled with enough misogyny as it is.
