I think 2020 was when I was starting to get acquainted with kpop in general so it was overwhelming to me and I kind of took my time to try everything before settling into something. And even when I started stanning artists, I found that my tastes and perspectives changed overtime from back then to now. Like, I figured out what I like and what works for me, yk? I tried enough stuff to know what I like.

i totally get that!! when i first got into kpop (around 2017) i rushed into stanning a lot of groups without fully listening to their stuff and getting to know the members and that made me realise i didn't actually really like them all that much lol

Yeah for sure. I kind of been on both ends of stanning without thinking about what i am getting into and taking awhile to stan? Bc i wouldn’t even say I stanned some groups I stanned back them just bc my idea of stanning changed. a lot of it was just casual interest in retrospect.

there were some groups I ”stanned” for a bit then dropped when I didn’t click with them as much as I thought I did.

My stanlist is big now ig (16 iirc) but like, these groups hit all the right ticks for me and i don’t drop them easily bc of the thought i put into now (compared to back then) and I try to think about it a bit before committing to another one (unless you really really blow me away). It was a learning process in a sense!

exactly, my perception of stanning has definitely also changed. i think even now i struggle to choose between saying if i stan a group or just really like them lol, bc those are different in my mind. like i definitely love nct & bts, they're my all-time favs, but i also really really like exo who i've been listening to for years - and yet they're not even really near to being on the same level

it's cool you managed to get such a big stan list now tho!! i used to love the idea of stanning a bunch of groups but over time i realised i preferred just having a small set of them lol
