I'm going to say no because it has a similiar effect to if you drink water after eating anything spicy (it makes it worse). This why people say to drink milk after you eat spicy food.

Seems like this is an actual debate that’s wisdespread. From what I saw I saw scientific explanations for why it would make it worse (carbon dioxide stimulating pain receptors in your mouth) but none for proving it helps. Though I did see an explanation for beer seeming effective that may apply to soda (the cooling effect of drinking a cold soda). But that being said the article explained that the cooling effect goes away quickly and can make the resulting pain worse. I didn’t look that much into it but I think it seems like the answer is no more so than yes.
