Why not start big with an anime, which imo, transcends anime? From the animation and the soundtrack, to the world building and characters. Each part comes together to produce an anime series that is incredibly beautiful and powerfully emotional.
This was such a gem of an anime, that left me absolutely 'wowed' at the end of watching it, and stayed in my thoughts for a very long time afterwards....
