Does it have to be static or can it be a gif type? also can I include other things in the background? like trees or stuff?

Completely up to you. As long as you aren't cheating (see OP), you can do what you want 😁

And if you do decide to make it a gif, just make sure that the file isn't too big or I'll have to compress it.

You could always try drawing, or if you play Sims you could do that.

As someone who plays The Sims a lot, I freakin' love this idea 😃

This is so hard, Canva leaves watermarks which ruin everything

You don't have to use Canva. A lot of mobile photo editing apps allow you to add things without having you pay. Drawing is also an option too! Feel free to be creative with your platform. 😁

Canva is the only one I know how to use and I am bad at drawing without a good referance picture to use

That's real though. I'm terrible at drawing too. I used to want to improve but I was like "eh...visual art's not really my thing anyway" and I just had so little time on my hands.

I was more of a musical art kid 😂

Sorry I'm getting back to you so late but the background can be whatever you want. That's why I did my gingerbread house template with a transparent background. 😁
