i see everyone else having friends and I feel so lonely. since fifth grade i never thought i needed friends but now i'm in ninth grade and i see everyone else having friends, even little kids are making friends before me.

there are these two girls at my school who I really want to be friends with, they seem super cool, and I see they like a bunch of the same things i like but i'm just too nervous to talk to them. i don't know why no one has ever asked me to be their friend.

at lunchtime i always sit by myself. i wish i was more talkative and it was easier for me to make friends.

it’s hard to have the courage to go up to someone and talk to them, I totally get that, but keep in mind that if they are really like you and like the same stuff as you, then they will most likely get along with you as well :)

if you like similar stuff, just hoard the courage, come up to them and say "Hey, you love this band too! so cool! I haven´t seen anyone else around the school who likes the same stuff. Jee what a relief!" and that is always a great ice breaker. if they as cool as you think they are, they will continue the convo smoothly. if by the end of the chat you are not invited to meet up, just say something like "wow, that felt so great to felt understood. I usually feel so lonely with my interests. would you mind hanging out together sometimes?" since you are all at school, you can also ask them about which classes do you have together and whether you can sit with them during the classes or at lunch and that will lead you somewhere.

I am the same as you, just terrible at socializing. This year I’m a junior and I finally kinda have a friend group. I even went to homecoming with them. For me, that is such progress, I can’t believe I literally did that.

I started a kpop club, and made friends there.

also, talk to someone and just ask to hangout outside of school. Go shopping or something. now you have a connection beyond just school.

people don’t ask to be your friend, it just happens. would you ever walk up to someone and ask to be besties? Ofc not. But you probably would go talk to your classmate about the bt21 keychain on their backpack. And then your shared interest might lead to friendship
