Kpop has given me a deeper understanding of the entertainment industry. I used to think that artists always wrote their own songs and choreographed it all but often there is a whole team deserving of praise behind them.​

I think it helped me better understand pop music and in particular, vocal-centric music.

I used to take "X artist doesn't write their own songs" as an insult and would be so upset if the artist wasn't credited with writing it. lol but now that I've seen how the K-industry (and the western music industry alike) is really like, I don't get fazed if the artist didn't write their latest hit single. IIf they or a member of their group wrote it, cool beans. If they didn't, cool beans. I don't give a fluff who wrote the song anymore, it's all about the sound for me now.

It upsets me that people with deeper singing voices are marginalized by the entire South Korean music industry. I'm angry that the US music industry is moving in that same direction.
