How has your music taste changed? (1 Viewer)

When I was a kid, all I listened to was 60s and 70s music because that's what my parents listened to.. lol it wasn't until seventh grade that I started listening to pop. I did still listen to oldies occasionally, but my main focus was on current music. I finally stopped the oldies thing in y mid-teens when I became obsessed with the Backstreet Boys and everybody from that era (late 90s/early 00s).

I also used to despise country music with every fiber of my being, because they were all about the same damn beer, the same damn truck, the same damn pretty much everything. lol But in 2011, I was blown away by an Idol contestant by the name of Lauren Alaina, who hails from my home state. She did a beautiful country rendition of I Don't Want to Miss a Thing for her audition and again for her second solo during Hollywood Week, and that's when I started actually liking (eventually loving) country music.

i used to listen to this american boy band called prettymuch (they did a collab with nct) which led me to find out about kpop which eventually led to khh

For me until I was a teenager it was British/Irish pop music, the 90’s/00’s primary school disco classics. When I started to be able to wander around my own music path in my teens I landed in my indie/emo phase, when me and my friends would go to whoever was playing in nearby cities. McFly were very much my number one favourites though (Galaxy Defenders stay forever)
Then aged nineteen I stumbled across Kpop, and that’s been me ever since. Looking at the groups I stan, they’re all completely different, and honestly (especially in my teens) wouldn’t have given any of them a look apart from the bands. I love the individuality of each artist in my stan list

My music taste actually hasn't changed all too much. I have always listened to J-Pop/J-Rock practically since birth, and then got into K-Pop from there. So not too much variety, haha. I've listened to many different genres throughout my life though, but my favorites have stayed the same.

I think kpop was what I first started listening on my own, since then it's shifted over to more rock, outdated jpop style stuff, gufeng concepts, and romantic stuff
I did have a brief k indie phase though lmao

well, my music taste is honestly so well rounded... meaning i can listen to scream rock and then turn on the bha bha song by tri.be then onto j-rock to indie pop to rap and... yea its a never ending cycle

The only thing that has really changed is I like and listen to more genres and countries than I did when I was younger.

I used to listen to rock and metal, then shifted to kpop with some rock and metal on the side

My music taste has been rock/metal since I got into it. Before it, I didn't really have a favorite genre. It's still rock/metal; but It's now jrock/jmetal, even on idol groups.

Same when I was younger it was 60s/80s/90s music now I don’t think it’s changed I still listen to older songs but I guess now the biggest change is probably listening to kpop

I used to listen to a lot of country when I was little, Shania Twain, The Dixie Chicks, Reba, etc… Then I listened to bands like Green Day, Evanescence, Linkin Park until I sort of got into just normal popular pop artists, then I got into Kpop and now that’s all I listen to.
