It's all a blur when it happens, so I can't say how long it takes. I wake up one day and realize I feel different, the sun shines warmly, etc. And the butterflies

not long at all, i get crushes really easily

Somewhat instantly however its a rarity ..hence the crushes I've had are the only people Ive dated as I felt strongly enough to generally like them more than a friend.
I pick up on potentials for friendship mainly.. Somewhat oblivious to how others feel unless they tell me though.
