How long should the bad deeds of idols be held against them? (1 Viewer)

So we know idols have done things in the past, and it could get them cancelled. From CA to bullying and everything in between. How long do you think an idol should be "held accountable" for their past actions? Does it also depend on what they did? For ex. if they bullied someone in middle school, should they be punished as adults? Or if they said something racist as adults like Wendy, it's something that should always follow them? Since it's racism

It’s a difficult one, and as international fans our opinions don’t hold much weight. Park Bom for instance shouldn’t have gone through what she did for the amount of time she did, but YG threw her under the bus and Koreans despised her for years. On the other hand they’re a country who forgives racism easily, like the incidents with Wendy, Giselle and numerous incidents with blackface. This may sound hollow, but at least now more idols are posting personal apologies through their own socials rather than cookie cutter statements from companies.

It is a difficult question. If it's not a criminal past i don't think it should follow said person forever, but also it's not my place to say.

I do agree with the comment above me, that they should apologize sincerely, not just with a statement from the company and they also should apologize to the people they hurt in person. Other then that i think the most important thing it would be to see them not make similar or the same mistakes again.

some actions are so reprehensible that it will carry with them for the rest of their life...for example if one bullied someone and that person took their own life
