Exaggeration ofc, but I feel like when looking in the typical baking goods cupboard every other thing in come across is a starch or flour :susPepe: Some are normal enough (all purpose flour, bread flour, cornstarch), others I’ve seen used in American ish recipes but are less common (potato flour, semolina flour, tapioca flour, rice flour), and some I feel are very specific and not often used at all, if ever (almond flour slight more common, wheat starch and sweet potato starch not as much). I’ve used all (except wheat starch, I didn’t buy that though) but it still seems to be quite an assortment for me :haylul:

i mean i think we have many different types of flour - which are required for different types of recipes we follow. whole wheat flour, refined/all-purpose flour, bread flour, semolina, rice flour, corn flour, gram flour are the ones i can think of off the top of my head, and i don't even really cook or anything. we probably have a few more millet-based flours too, i'll have to check

I haven’t heard of gram flour, I’m guessing it’s less of a thing here. I’ll google it though because I’m interested what it is :sanapray:

it's called besan in hindi. and there's a variation, if the gram is roasted before grinding into flour, then it's called sattu. it's highly nutritious, and is used in many recipes!
