How many of you knew this fact? (1 Viewer)

A spin off of my other thread. It’s about George Washington. Somehow, I never looked closely at his dates in office, and never noticed that his presidency started in 1789, 5 years after the Treaty of Paris was ratified. Now I knew that the Articles of Confederation were put into place before the Constitution, and in hindsight its not surprising that the US didn’t have a president at that time in the same manner given that the constitution spells out some things regarding the presidency. But it’s just something I didn’t consider, the fact that the US didn’t vote in a president immediately, but that they waited for some time. Is there anyone else didn’t know this fact or consider it before?
