I'm reading a couple books from the library right now, and went on a mass "place hold" spree for most of my TBR. I should be able to limit my spending this year to only books I really want in my personal collection.

You're reminding me that I basically use my library daily, it's just through Libby for audiobooks.

Libraries are great! You could make a trip of it when you have nothing to do sometime. My library even has passed to local attraction and a "library of things" you can borrow, like tools or board games or whatever.

I should do it more, but due to poor funding and maintenance, it's often insufferable to work on anything there. creaky tables, sparking outlets, and loud kids. Not to mention they took all the normal sized tables away so the tables are shorter than the distance from the floor to my knee. It feels like they're trying to drive people away.

I'm sorry, that sucks. It's weird that they don't seem to want a public space to be used by the public.
