In my country it's mostly automated so you'll get a few papers in the mail and if everything looks OK you text in the confirmation code written on the papers and you're done. It takes about 15 seconds of your time and I've never had any issues with anything needing correcting. It can be random how much you get/owe though, the worst I ever had was owing them like 200$ which sucked when I was poor teen but it's usually nothing more than 20$ or so.

He volunteers to files it for me and it was done a a couple days ago. In return, I made him focaccia pizza.

How I long for my country to move to a system like that. Our tax system is needlessly complicated.

Riiight. Dont people potentially want their money back. o.o
I never minded doing my own tax returns. I usually ended up filing for my parents since high school.
But with my brother around more during tax season, all I have to do it sign a few papers and it's done.
