How to drive in a straight line and cross 6 timezone lines in under 5 hours without leaving the state (1 Viewer)

Of course it’s not as simple as that but assuming it was all free of people and full of roads then it could be I put it into google maps and it gave a different not straight route but also crossed 6 timezone lines and gave a time estimate of 4 hours and 48 minutes about.

No I’m not, opposite side of the country basically. I just always found it funny how Arizona’s time zones are so divided

It's more complicated than that.

Technically none of the state of Arizona ever does Daylight Savings. We never change.

However, the Navajo Nation does.

So anything that is a Reservation, does change their time. And anywhere else that is "actually" the state of Arizona doesn't change time.

I know that it’s the Reservation where the time changes. But for the sake of this, this part of the reservation is within Arizonas boundaries, so I’m not counting it as a separate state, even though they aren’t subject to all the rules of Arizona as far as I know. If that’s a wrong viewpoint feel free to let me know, I don’t know all that much about these things tbh.

I mean, you are correct that Navajo Nation falls within the Arizona boundaries. But they are technically (and legally) a separate Nation. It gets very complicated.

Effectively, Arizona (the state) never changes time but Arizona (the geographical region) has some areas that do change time.

It's enough to make your head hurt.

Yeah I’ve been meaning the geographical region, I know that in other regards it’s separate from states.

I didn’t say you should, I said you could The straight line route isn’t even possible realistically though a different similar one is. Maybe you need to drive through that exact area, who knows.

Well ever since I saw the area of Arizona that does and doesn’t have it I’ve been like “I wonder how many times you can cross into a new timezone in a short time span without like blatantly going back and forth.” Just me being curious about that, ever since I learned geographical Arizona has so many time zone divisions
