but if that’s how everyone gets away with so much: why worry about the legality of stuff and fines when they’re exploded by the gains

I've already seen elsewhere that they're gonna give LSM executive authority back. Twas a nice fantasy I had of things changing and all their artists, past and present, benefitting. Nice fantasy, all 5 minutes of it

Hopefully, I have more than just NCT to worry about though. I don’t know much about all this stuff but I’ve just seen bad things when HYBE essentially takes over other companies.

I thought Nu'est chose not to do much? Tbh, I even thought they disbanded. I was a pretty big fan of theirs thanks to Ren luring me in and Minhyun pretty much wrecked me. I'm a carat and I love how Seventeen can be more them now. I didn't think that Nu'est was being neglected tho x.x

They did disband yes. Which is partially the point. After the whole HYBE thing they had very few comebacks, fairly few group activities, no seasons greetings while most of not all other groups under HYBE got one, and quite frankly the merch and albums that they did release were much lamer, and so on. I’ve seen nothing to imply that the members wanted that sort of treatment. If anything, I heard that their disbandment album was a surprise to the group mates (can’t confirm this for sure, it’s possibly inaccurate). It wasn’t like Nuest were still a nugu group without the potential to make money either. They had a solid fan base and were known enough, but they were just ignored from what it seems, possibly because they’re an older group, but that doesn’t make it fair to the members or fans.

Either way, if it's any consolation @Vikki Hybe is the majority shareholder but only owns 14%. They don't have the 25% needed to make SM a associate company or 50% needed to be a subsidiary like Pledis and SouMu. NCT should be fine unlike nu'est and GFriend

Iirc yes to an extent. They’ve had ups and downs with activity based on a variety of factors, and had moments in the past where they were doing less activities. But if you look at their 5 members comebacks after P101, they had one in April 2019, October 2019, May 2020, and then HYBE happened at which point their next comeback (and last) was in April 2021, so almost a year after. I don’t follow YouTube activities and whatnot either but I have seen Nuest fans complain about the lack of activities after HYBE too so it doesn’t sound great in that regard either.

Yes they’re doing their own stuff now, it’s not like they have group activities to do anymore. But that doesn’t mean that groups should disband just because some of the members could theoretically do solo stuff.

Well HYBE doesn’t seem to care for older groups so while Shinee might be fine they might not be in a worst case scenario.
But ofc yes as my ult group and considering everything SuperM are my biggest worry

If they don't watch after SuperM they are idiots because out of all groups they have SuperM is literally a group made up of members from almost each group they have. It's literally a super group.
