It feels strange. I had been bullied growing up for how I look and for how I act. I was often excluded from activities and people ignored my existence. And if they didn’t ignore me, I was targeted relentlessly. But within the past year or so, my confidence has gone up significantly and I have been accepted into multiple friend groups. And the strangest thing is being called pretty. Pretty privilege 100% exists. Being noticed and being recognized feels nice but is also super scary at the same time. I was bullied constantly for being fat but now that I am in a different environment, and didn’t lose weight - in fact I gained weight - people are different. Holding my head up high has been so important​

Wow, I am amazed to hear such a story, I share the same value as you except I wasn't bullied but rather target with nasty glares and made fun
I'm surprised to hear that you've be shoved out until you entered the stage of a young adult, I am wishing myself the same.
I don't blame you, being called pretty can be scary as I an someone who easily gets afraid of such words like beautiful

the main thing is be confident in yourself and your own abilities
not everyone can be "pretty" in a conventional sense but someone will find us attractive

like for example I keep saying that god gave me neither the height not the looks but he did give me a big brain so that's what I focused on and managed to attract myself a wife
