How can sometimes fandoms be like a close family and then other times its like they’re constantly fighting? I don’t get it, arent we all here for the music?

Just naturally since a fandom is comprised of people, we fck it up. Also it's asking people from countless backgrounds opinions etc to come under a common interest that itself has too much nuance for anyone to be understood only one way.

I think norms and values play a role in this. But also ppl just can't take shit anymore these days. Getting butthurt by the smallest things. A huge amount of ppl have this idea like, my opinion is superior and don't care about the rest I feel like. If everyone could just respect each other's opinions..
Also I think a lot of ppl are just either too young or keyboard kings who like to troll online.
I'd just ignore those toxic creatures

I think in fighting usually happens when some fans try to start fanwars with other fandoms which causes some people to jump on them to not start stuff
