I don’t understand why skirts are usually shorter in the back than in the front. I don’t really wanna be showing my ass when I bend over ​

If the skirt is even length all around the back can ride up because of the curve of the bum. It's more noticeable on short skirts.

I'm willing to bet this boils down to the manufacturing process and cost. Cutting a straight line vs. compensating for ass would be two entirely different processes. Compensating for butts would be more expensive in both material and effort. And then what size butt do you compensate for?! If they went big then any one with a small or flat butt would have extra fabric in the back.
