As a society, I mean. We forget that one another is human with feelings. We need to care more about one another and listen to their experiences. Why do we put labels on one another? It's really sad. ​

literally, we all are human, we bleed the same, we all experience joy, love, grief, and so many more emotions so why can't we search for the good in other people

as the resident cynic and old boomer COUNTERPOINT - listening doesn't get you far when staring down the barrel of a gun or missile

society has probably grown even more distant in terms of division - in terms of resources, power, standard of living etcetc

how does one listen when a company sells fentanyl and causes the deaths of millions
how does one listen when whatever deity you believe is the cause of countless wars and million of deaths

it's all well and good to say yes we should be more empathetic and listen and come to a middle ground
that's not the difficult issue - the problem lies in what happens when they don't listen

I would agree it's the cynic in you.

I don't really think this post was made with the intent of people commenting to play devil's advocate but more so to vent about how sad it is that we don't listen to each other. And yes, us stating that here won't change it in reality but it's comforting to say it here and have others agree.

yes, we're too quick to jump to conclusions without pausing and looking at the situation from various other perspectives
