Hmm. I'm not sure. I don't plan on having children.
If I did, I'd let them have a basic phone (no internet) once they start school. I'd wait 'til about 14 for a smartphone, just to save them a little from doing stupid stuff like I did. They can have (lightly, just to make sure they're safe) monitored access to the internet through a family computer or something until then.

cause my parents shouldn’t have allowed me to use discord at a really young age i mean they didn’t know lmao but boy did i do some crazy stuff back then
