@Carat I was having a grand old time on Instagram checking out the latest from my faves when I stumbled upon this on a Cheol posting.

wtf is wrong with these people??? Choi Seung-Cheol has already been through hell and back just to get to this point. Why are they getting on his ass like this? Can't they just save the drama for their mama's and,... idk... SHOW HIM SOME FREAKING LOVE??? And if they MUST get him to speak up, there are way nicer ways to get their point across than... whatever this shit is called, if there's a word for it. For example, you might ask "So, how do you feel about the Rafah fiasco?" and if he doesn't have an opinion or say anything at all, just let bygones be fvcking bygones!

tl;dr *in the voice of that "Leave Britney alone" YouTube guy* LEAVE S.COUPS ALONE!!!

He never outright supported them, at least not to my knowledge. Unfortunately this has been an all too common occurrence. Many celebrities are being repeatedly asked to speak up due to the size of their platform. However some may feel that it is safer to not speak on political issues at all. I see the value in asking celebrities to speak out, but at the same time harassing them is not the answer.

the most sane take on this situation, this is by no means a personal attack on him

i think it's actually really unproductive to demand a statement from a kpop idol on this situation, very rarely do idols, especially active idols with a large and active fanbase (like coups) get political. but this is by no means merely "drama". fans are indeed showing coups love, but they're also trying to draw attention to a highly concerning and heartbreaking situation. their means aren't the best imo, but their end goal is completely understandable.
