Sensitive I hate how I take meds to keep me awake and I'm still practically falling asleep (1 Viewer)

And it definitely isn't that they've worn off because it's been about an hour and a half since I took them
Is it just normal to be exhausted all the time? I sleep well at night so that's not it either, though ig it could be my other meds too affecting it. Ig I should bring it up with my psychiatrist again, which I probably will, but I just wish I was more awake most days.

There are medications that are supposed to help with narcolepsy which is a sleep condition where you oversleep in simple terms, I take ritalin which is one of them. It's not a medication to be prescribed lightly though, its a schedule 2 drug I think due to abuse of it which is pretty intense (only schedule 1 drugs are higher, and they're all illegal). Ritalin usually for ADHD, and in a lot of countries it's even illegal tbh.

Yeah, or decrease the dosage of one of mine that are causing extra exhaustion. Idk really which would be better because both have their downsides.

Yeah it can cause a lot of dependence and has a high potential for abuse ig. Luckily I don't want to get myself addicted so I'm pretty safe with it.

i would advice for u to take a blood test, if u havent already. ofc go to the doctor first to see what they tell ya, not entirely sure what u are taking, might be a side effect of another med or just that one not doing much for u, as well at could be something else. i for example take a pill when anxious for a year by now and i dont feel the same effect as i used to before. problem with taking meds for those issues is sometimes its something bigger and the pill only can do so much
my advice would be to try and check something in ur routine, check up with ur doc, maybe do a blood test and see if u missing some vitamin. that alone can make u feel way more tired than usual

Yeah I actually need to find a new primary care doctor and get an appointment with them. I have had blood tests recently but I'm not certain if they measured anything other than my lithium levels. I do know that this problem has been happening for a long time now though so I don't think it's vitamins because I've gotten them checked fairly often in the past.

thats a good idea. make sure to mention ur routine and all. that usually helps them make a better assessment
