I hate kpop fans around me (1 Viewer)

This isn’t about superiority. A lot of western fans that’ve recently been exposed to Kpop only really know BTS or Blackpink. For those who have been Kpop fans for longer obviously know more acts, but when some people say that to Army to Blink, they get other suggestions thrown back in their faces. I personally don’t listen to Twice, but what’s the harm in introducing the girls to other people?

With me, SHINee and 2PM, were the two groups that introduced me to Kpop. That was 11yrs ago, if I’d gone that long without listening to other groups, I’d hate myself. Instead, my bias groups’ debuts span from April 2011 through til May 2020. There’s nothing wrong with only listening to BTS or Blackpink, but don’t be surprised if you come across fans who listen to other groups besides those. Just say you listened to Twice and didn’t like so respectfully and move on. As for the ‘drooling morons’, I’ve seen tweets from Army or Blink saying they only make up 1% of the fandom (or words to that affect) What they don’t think about is that 1% of those fandoms in numbers would be far more than other group’s entire fandoms. Kpop is going through a huge change, and yeah it’s overwhelming at times, but we’re all here supporting our faves. Let people do that.

if people have the desire to look beyond bts/bp or shinee/2pm then they will. if they dont want to, then they wont. nothing a "more knowledgeable" kpop fan does will change that?!?!?!

i dont agree with the new fans bashing twice or other groups. but thats obv bad and no one condones that. but kpoppies are so smug over knowing more compared to new armys and blinks

yes its just the vocal 1%.yes that 1% is more than the entire fandom of a less popular group. AND? so what??? wow, math exists? it still doesnt mean liking bts/bp and not being into other groups is something bad and needs to be fixed by the purifying hands of a once

TBH I limited myself to BTS for the first 6 months I was a kpop stan. I deeply regret not even looking at anybody else’s music. Then I stanned BLACKPINK. Then TWICE. Then other groups. TBH I used to only get to know BTS & BP for a while, so I am guilty of thinking of nothing in kpop outside of BTS & BP; not even TWICE until i stanned. Really I think the reason I think people think of BTS & BP like that is bc they are most popular in the west; TWICE not as much.
