I have never been more excited for an iPhone update (1 Viewer)

I’m an iPhone user (but don’t have other Apple devices). I put too much up in the cloud to turn back now. I never usually get excited for IOS updates but IOS 18 has some pretty cool features. You can lock any app with Face ID. You can create custom emojis with AI. You can customize your app icons without having to go through a 3rd party app. There is also a new ChatGPT experience (already comes on the phone, no internet searching for it)​

I never get the newest model of any phone. I use them until they crap out And I have never paid for one outright, they have always been payment plans over several months(usually like a year or so). It is much more manageable that way. Granted everytime I have done that (three times) I have gotten a new phone plan.

Exactly! Never understood why people get a new phone every year basically when the old one works just fine and updates are still supported/available. My phone has to be hanging on for dear life before even start considering getting a new one.

It can sometimes make sense. My dad had a pretty new iPhone but bought the newest model because of a specific feature. The new model had satellite calling for emergencies and given that my family likes hiking, there’s a nonzero chance that an emergency could happen in an area where there’s no service. So I can see getting a new model if there’s a feature very important to you. If it’s just because you think it looks slightly prettier or something I see less of a reason though. But there are definitely benefits to newer models feature wise ofc.
