oooh it looks great!! any vkei recs for someone unfamiliar with the genre? i know of some bands like plastic tree and femme fatale, but have yet to really check any of them out >< (also MLP mentioned?? hell yes )

i'm not sure what kind of music you're into since vkei is a wide ranging subculture. but i always recommend the gazette since they're one of my fav bands of all time. they have kind of a more alt metal/nu metal sound so you might like them if you're into that? but they also dabble in other genres a bit.

but if you're entirely new to vkei and already know plastic tree, then i'd recommend deadman or xaaxaa since they're kind of similar in sound (but not at the same time). since plastic tree is in the soft kei substyle, they're good for newer fans who aren't used to how grotesque vkei can get. the shock factor for deadman is a little higher than plastic tree but music wise they’re softer compared to other bands. as for xaaxaa they're more of a modern band so their sound is interesting but really fun. (modern bands get a lot of hate but i think xaaxaa are one of the good ones)

as for the music itself, vkei can be difficult to get into because a lot of bands' music is lost media but streaming services like spotify or apple music are a good way to dip your toes into it but most of the music i listen to is really old VHS tapes uploaded to youtube or other random sites 💀
