it’s a grapefruit baked Alaska. A grapefruits center was taken out, then the juice was mixed with sugar. The mixture was added back, then vanilla ice cream was added, then it was topped with meringue and baked for a short time

Never understood why people eat a fruit that they have to add a lb of sugar to make it edible. Why not just eat something that's already edible? Most of the time I drool at what you make. Not today.

Do you drink any juice ever? That has added sugar most of the time. Also I added half a tablespoon of sugar

It is for baked Alaska dishes. The trick is that you need to use food thats a strong insulator (like meringue) and bake for a short time. The meringue is such a strong insulator that no heat will come from the top despite it becoming warm at parts and toasted at the top. for the bottom I put it all except the meringue in a freezer to limit heat from the base. Usually a baked Alaska uses a cake as the base instead of grapefruit like I did here, but the idea is the same
