I made myself read 134 pages of my book club book today (1 Viewer)

On top of the 194 I'd previously read, so... Only 189 left to go.

Debating whether I power through it tonight, because god it's tedious, and get it out of my backlog, or chip away at it throughout the rest of the week, as I originally planned. That sounds bad: I have a daily reading goal I set for myself so that I finish a book a week. I split this 517-page book across two weeks, figuring a 64-page-a-day goal was more doable. So I set that goal before I knew what my book club was subjecting me to. (There was just a long chapter about someone giving birth just to name the kid "Eve Everlasting." 😐)

In other news, the audiobook I bought for fun is WAY more enjoyable. It's some weird ass shit, but I'm digging it because it delivers the oddities with such a straight face.

Thank you friend! The person who put the book up for this month's read was super excited, so at least I can imagine her being happy everyone read it. ❤ It won't be the first time I powered through a read lol.

I ended up powering through it, so at least it only ruined my leisure time yesterday, and not all week.

Which reminds me @Day - the big twist in The Once and Future Witches ended up being that the bad guy is Hansel. Of Hansel and Gretel. The idiot who almost gets eaten by the witch in the fairy tale. Apparently that made him hate witches or something. I can't take it seriously.

I can't promise how much I actually absorbed, because I really made myself crank through it, but it has a questions for discussion section at the end and I could answer all of them, so I think I at least got the gist. xD
